Hopper Newsletter #7
10/25/2010
From Susan
Did any of you notice that I didn't send a newsletter for Week #6. I was just too busy with work and getting ready for the Halloween Dance. Thanks to those of you who came to the dance! It was fun!
If you want to see pictures from the Halloween Level Dance at Samena Squares, go to their web page: http://www.samenasquares.org/
Click on the Club Photo link and you can see the fun.
There are several student level dances in November and December. Please try to go to as many as possible. Going to the Level Dances is an important part of learning to dance. It gives you an opportunity to dance to other callers and to meet other dancers, both new and experienced.
Don't be surprised if you hear some calls that you are not familiar with at these dances. All callers teach the same thing. But sometimes we teach in a little different order. If there is something called that you don't know, at the end of the tip, ask the caller to review it. They will be happy to help.
If you learn something new at a Level Dance bring it back to class and let me know. There is a good chance that I will be teaching it that night anyway. I will add it to my teaching order for the night, in any event.
Also if your square breaks down, remember to get into lines as quickly as possible. The caller will notice this and get everyone in lines so you can get back to dancing. Don't discuss what went wrong until after the tip. Get in lines and keep dancing!
It was a good class tonight. We are progressing nicely.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Happy dancing,
Susan
