Great class last night! Everyone is doing well. We are moving right along.
As I said last night there are 68 numbered calls. Some of them have multiple parts, like Circulates, which has one number but five parts. (We have learned two of them.) If you count all the parts there are a few more than 68. However, no matter which way you count them we are more than half way through the list. Hooray for us!
I hope that you make an effort to go to the First Friday Fun Fest this Friday. It is a fun dance! I also can't say too often that an important part of your learning is going to dance to other callers. It will give you a different perspective on dancing. Dances are different than classes. You will also very likely learn some new calls because every class is in a different place. Dave Harry, who is calling Friday nights dance, is very good about quickly teaching calls that are new to any dancer so everyone can have a good time. Relax and go with the flow and do what he says. Have fun!
I will be gone next week. My friend, Stephen Cole, will be there to call for you. I will be sending him a list of what I have taught. He will review all the new calls and maybe teach a couple of new ones. Have fun with him!
Happy dancing,
Susan
